Hamilton Police Continue to Investigate Residential Entries

Night_Routine_Twitter

Hamilton Police continue to investigate numerous reports of residential entries in Ancaster over the last two months.

The public can expect an increased police presence in the Ancaster area as Hamilton Police continue efforts to identify the suspect(s) responsible for the reported residential entries.

The nature of the reported residential entries can be characterized as “opportunistic”, in which entry was gained through an unlocked door, an open garage, or by using a garage door opener that was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked outside the residence.

Police want to take this opportunity to remind community members to stay vigilant and encourage the public to look out for one another. We ask that you report all suspicious activity and crimes to police so they can be investigated and tracked.

Remember, “If you see something, say something”.

Hamilton Police values this important information as we look into these crimes and deploy resources accordingly to better serve our community. It is important to recognize that criminals find it difficult to operate in neighbourhoods where citizens take an active role in preventing crime.

Police are looking for witnesses and/or video surveillance footage to assist in identifying the suspect(s).  If you live in the area and have video cameras installed at your residence, or if you have witnessed this person in or around your property recently, please contact Division Three Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Sergeant Ben Licop at 905-546-3851.
