Hamilton Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an Assault with a Weapon that took place last evening and are asking anyone with information to report it to investigators.

On Friday December 1, 2023, shortly after 5 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the plaza at 65 Mall Road after receiving information of a stabbing incident. Police located a male victim suffering from a wound to his leg, believed to be caused by an edged weapon. The male was transported to hospital in stable condition. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged an 18-year-old male with the following offences: 

• Assault with a Weapon x2
• Utter Threats to Cause Death

As the information has not been sworn to before the courts, the accused's name cannot be released at this time. Police believe this assault to be a targeted incident.
