Hamilton Police Investigating Stabbing

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s assistance in an ongoing stabbing investigation.

On Saturday, September 9, 2023 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Sherman Avenue North and Case Street after receiving information of a Break and Enter in progress and an altercation involving multiple individuals. Police located a female victim suffering from a stab wound to her abdomen. The female remains in non-life threatening condition.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 40-year-old male with the following offences: 

  • Possession Incendiary Material 
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Fail to Comply Probation

As the information has not been sworn to before the courts, the accused’s name cannot be released at this time.

Police believe this assault to be a targeted incident and are seeking additional witnesses to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Hamilton Police are also asking residences, businesses and vehicles with cameras in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. for any suspicious activity.
