Hamilton Police Investigation Yields Loaded Firearm and Drugs

A Hamilton Police Service Major Drug Unit investigation led to a search warrant being obtained for an East Hamilton residence.

On October 13, 2022, the warrant was executed. A search of the residence revealed a loaded handgun, 400 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, 150 oxycodone pills, 14 hydromorphone capsules indicative of drug trafficking and $5000 in Canadian currency.

Jose Silva, 38-years-old from Hamilton and April Blake, 53-years-old from Hamilton, were arrested and are facing the following criminal charges.

  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

 Police are also looking for 39-year-old Joelen Keogh in relation to this investigation.
