Hamilton Police have taken another firearm off of the street.

On Wednesday April 2, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers from the Hamilton Police High Enforcement Action Team (H.E.A.T) located a young person who was violating their court ordered release conditions. The youth had been ordered to remain in his residence daily, however he was observed at a store near the area of Wentworth Street and Main Street.

Officers approached the youth and placed him under arrest. During a search, Police discovered the following items:

• A fully loaded handgun
• 7 grams of fentanyl
• 24 grams of crack cocaine
• 46 grams of powder cocaine
• A large amount of money consistent with drug trafficking

The 16-year-old youth from Hamilton will now go before the courts for the following charges:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – cocaine
• Proceeds of Crime Over $5000.00
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited Firearm – Loaded
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession Contrary to Order
• Fail to Comply with Release Order x2
• Breach Probation – Youth
