Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for assistance regarding a motor vehicle collision that had left an 8-year-old female victim with serious injuries.

On Monday May 18, 2026 at approximately 7:30p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Barton Street and McNeilly Road in Stoney Creek for a motor vehicle collision.

An 8-year-old female pedestrian was riding her scooter on Barton Street when a maroon coloured pick-up truck towing a boat trailer struck her. 

The pedestrian was transported to hospital after sustaining serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police are seeking to identify the driver of the pickup truck and are asking them to come forward and assist investigators.

Additionally, Police are seeking witnesses and asking anyone with information, dashcam footage, or nearby surveillance recordings to come forward.
