Hamilton Police are currently investigating a shooting that left one man with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

On Friday March 20, 2026, at approximately 4:00a.m., officers were called to an apartment building on Hess Street South for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located one male suffering from injuries consistent with gun shoot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he is expected to survive.

Police located a firearm nearby which is believed to have been used in the incident. The suspect departed on foot and is described as the following:

• Male, light skin
• Medium build
• Grey shirt with white logo
• Black boxer shorts
• White socks

It is still early into this investigation, but Police believe this to be a targeted shooting.
