Two Arrested After Financial Exploitation Investigation
The Hamilton Police Service Crimes Against Seniors Unit has arrested two individuals following an investigation into the alleged financial exploitation of a vulnerable senior.
On June 24, 2026, investigators arrested a 56-year-old male and a 54-year-old female in connection with an investigation involving the alleged defrauding of a vulnerable family member of a substantial amount of money.
As a result of the investigation, both accused have been charged with:
- Fraud Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Identity Fraud
Both accused were released from custody on undertakings with future court dates.
To protect the identity of the victim, the Hamilton Police Service will not be releasing the names of the accused, as doing so could identify the victim.
