Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Stolen Auto and Arrest of Drug Dealers

Hamilton Police officers continue to work towards a safer community. A traffic stop conducted in the area of King Street East and Nash Road resulted in the recovery of a stolen auto, illicit drugs and the execution of an outstanding warrant of arrest.

On Thursday, February 22, 2018 shortly after 1:00 a.m., Hamilton Police observed a green Honda CRV driving suspiciously westbound on King Street East near Nash Road, Hamilton.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was very evasive in her answers. Investigation revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant for her arrest and both the licence plate and vehicle were reported as stolen. Additionally, police located approximately 20.5 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine under the control of the vehicle occupants.

The driver, a 40-year-old female from Hamilton has been arrested and held for a Bail Hearing scheduled for February 22, 2018.

Charges:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
  • Possession of Controlled Drugs and Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine.

The passenger, a 33-year-old Hamilton man has been arrested and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
