Over the long weekend, Hamilton Police participated with police agencies in the province-wide traffic enforcement campaign, 'Operation Impact.' The focus was on speeding and aggressive driving. A total of 208 speeding tickets and 28 aggressive driving tickets were issued.

Aggressive driving offences included the following:

• Careless Driving - 9
• Disobey Traffic Light - 2
• Fail to Stop for Stop Sign - 11
• Turning Violations - 4
• One Way Street Violations - 2

Although the campaign has concluded, Hamilton Police would like to remind the public there is still an expectation that drivers will obey the rules of the road at all times. As such officers will continue to enforce traffic laws to ensure the roadways are safe for everyone.
