Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in the arrest of wanted party James Tupper.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 12, 2018, Hamilton Police responded to the area of Somerset Avenue and Barnesdale Avenue North in relation to a male jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Further investigation revealed the male was believed to wanted party James Tupper. Police officers were strategically placed, Tupper was cordoned off and negotiations commenced. After a brief period, he surrendered without incident.

James Tupper will appear in court on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the John Sopinka Courthouse. He has been charged with the following offences:

• Utter Threats and Utter Threats to Cause Death

• Criminal Harassment

• Breach of Probation X13

• Fail to Report to Probation
