On Friday, September 8, 2023, shortly before 2:00 p.m., a 43-year-old Hamilton male was driving eastbound in the Cannon Street bike lane at Gibson Ave in Hamilton. At the same time, a Ford F150 was attempting to make a left turn onto Cannon Street.

The E-bike collided with the pick-up truck causing the driver to be thrown from the E-bike.

The male was transported to hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken carriage of the investigation.
