The beginning of a new school year brings the addition of the chrome yellow school bus, carrying our precious cargo back and forth to school. Hamilton police have increased enforcement for the next couple of weeks to ensure drivers understand their added responsibilities.

On September 3 to 13, 2019, Hamilton Police will be focusing extra attention to drivers in the following areas:

• Looking for drivers who fail to stop for School Buses while their lights are flashing and the STOP arm is activated.
• Police presence near schools making sure parents understands their responsibilities while dropping off children at or near a school.
• Conducting speed enforcement to make sure drivers in school zones recognize the speed limit of 40Km/h.
